I am interested in adopting this pet
Ellie Mae came to stay with me and my 3 year old female Pit Bull Mabel in the middle of May. She was a scrawny 9 month old - 35 lb puppy that had spent most of her young life in a kennel and hadn’t had the freedom to develop her personality. But, as soon as I met her I could tell immediately that it was going to be a blast watching her figure it out!

Now she is a 50 lb young lady who is loves dock diving, swimming, agility, learning new tricks, singing, making me laugh, the dog park, squeaky toys, bones, kisses, and cuddling. Ellie Mae, much like her namesake is a clever tomboy and she LOVES the cement pond – the pool at the dog park.

Living with us at Doggercize (her foster runs a doggie daycare out of his home) she is constantly around different dogs and is well socialized. She is a bright little girl with a very curious nature, but I can leave her at home alone out of her kennel and not worry. She is kennel trained and really thinks of it as her oasis. I leave the door open during the day because she likes to nap there. Tell her to “Load Up,” she will go get in it on her own and wait for her treat! Here she sleeps at the foot of the bed or in her kennel; I have cold feet so I enjoy having her in bed.

Ellie Mae is house trained and should you forget to let her out she will tell you when she needs to go outside. She LOVES chewing on bones and sturdy heavy duty toys, and that keeps her busy, entertained, and away from shoes and other things.

Ellie is a very energetic dog. Pitbulls/Staffordshire Terriers tend to keep their puppy energy for the first 2-3 years. She is extremely athletic, so if you have ever wanted a dog that can compete in agility, Frisbee, or dock diving she would be the perfect dog for you. She is one of the fastest runners at the dog park and she could give Michael Phelps a run for the money in the pool. I still crack up watching her spring high into the air off the dock, belly flop, and swim back out and run up to do it again and again.

Right now she spends at least an hour a day playing at the dog park which keeps her happy and well behaved at home. Keep in mind a tired dog is always a good dog! Ellie Mae is a big ham, she loves attention and laughter. She is a very silly and expressive little girl. She does great in the car, but she does need to have eaten 2 or so hours before or she may get sick. Usually dinner time is in the company of 4-5 other dogs and she sits and waits patiently for her bowl. Ellie knows many commands like: sit, stay, shake, down, and others.

Ellie Mae is all ready for a home of her own and will make lucky family a wonderful companion! She is spayed, up to date on all of her and microchipped too!
