Kona

Pit Bull Terrier / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat) • Female • Adult

Kona was recently dumped, with another dog, at a shelter after living with one family for six years in Missouri. Since she was originally rescued as a puppy by Scout’s Honor, we immediately went into action to get her back to Houston.

Unfortunately, it appears Kona has had a rough life, showing signs of abuse. She is fearful and jumps with sudden movements or noises. She takes time to warm up to new people and dogs. But once she knows you, get ready for non-stop kisses. Kona adores her six-year-old human foster and they snuggle while watching cartoons.

Kona would love nothing more than a quiet home with at least one dog. She loves to be right next to her humans and when they are busy she cuddles with her foster brother. This girl would do well in a relatively quiet house where she gets lots of love and a consistent routine. She is completely house trained…never having an accident in her foster home.

This sweet girl is not food or resource aggressive. She is gentle and sweet. Her only issue is that she gets over excited (due to fear) when she sees other dogs on walks. Her foster family is working on her leash manners.
